History

In 1892 three companies: Michigan Radiator, Detroit Radiator, and the Pierce Steam Heating Company mergerd forming the American Radiator Company. In 1929 the American Radiator Company merges with the Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company (founded 1875) forming the American Radiator - Standard Sanitary Corporation. In 1937 American Radiator - Standard Sanitary expands their market share by acquiring Fox Furnace. In 1948 the brand name was changed from American Radiator - Standard Sanitary Corp. to simply American-Standard, later in 1968 the dash is removed creating American Standard.
In 1984 American Standard acquires TRANE. In 2008 TRANE is acquired by Ireland-based Ingersol Rand.
