They say, "there's a first time for everything, and they're not kidding. This is a first and probably the last time for me and I am one of a handful who've had to do this. Hey, the customer is right, even if they aren't.
The scenario: this rental property has a gas well so ... A long, long, long time ago the old coal furnace was converted to gas, gas is free this is good.
The conversion burner goes bad so the idea was to put a new burner in and a blower is added to change from gravity heat to forced warm air. So a low-boy furnace is installed with it's plenum sheeted into the coal furnace plenum and return air drawing from a wooden duct that connects to 1st floor grilles.
The old low-boy furnace is bad. My job?
Sigh …
Remove the old low-boy furnace, flues, and return air plenum and install a new 80% gas furnace with return air duct extension using a return air filter boot kit for an accessible filter, and pipe the flues for furnace and water tank into the chimney (the old water tank flue pipe was rusted through).

This is a tag removed from either a water fountain or cooler, I don't remember now it's been so long ago somewhere between 1982 ‐ 1985. Carm's Foods was a local grocery store. They've been gone for decades now so this is a small effort to offer a little memory of days gone by.
